Deputy Ambassador

Hon. Ms. Sophia Karen Edem Ackuaku was appointed as Ghana’s Deputy Ambassador to Norway on 16th October 2025 by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
Hon. Ms. Sophia Karen Edem Ackuaku is a distinguished Ghanaian legislator, public administrator, and development practitioner with over two decades of leadership experience spanning governance, national service, civil society, and enterprise development.
From 2017 to 2025, she served as the Member of Parliament for Obom Domeabra, where she championed social, economic, and infrastructural development, contributed to national policymaking through parliamentary debates and committee work, and promoted accountability by overseeing public spending and programs.
Prior to this, as Deputy Executive Director (Operations) at the National Service Secretariat (2013-2016), she led nationwide graduate deployment, digitized operational systems, strengthened monitoring and compliance, and cultivated strategic partnerships across sectors.
She is also the Founder of Womanhood Ghana (WOGHA) and serves as CEO and Managing Director of Amsos Ghana Ltd and the Eligreen Institute, where she advances women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and skills development.
Her academic and professional credentials include an LLB from Mountcrest University, an Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration from Charisma University, and certifications in governance, leadership, monitoring and evaluation, public relations, and human rights from Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Knowledge Tree International (USA), the Ghana Institute of Journalism, and AITU.
